Live Find dogs are used to look for Missing People who are presumed to still be alive.  This can be done with a scent specific dog in Trailing or Area,  or a general scent dog in Area or Disaster.

Deceased Find dogs are used to find Missing People who are presumed dead. This can be done with methodical small source/human remains dogs or general large source human remains detection dogs in Water or Land.
